Free Tools and Services for Bloggers Part 2

toolboxBloggers do not just write articles! They have to do a lot of things to manage and promote their blogs. These activities range from commenting to finding useful design and software tools. Often such tools are life savers, allowing more time for the business of writing and keeping readers happy. But at the same time, finding perfect tool for a task is difficult and time consuming. So, we searched internet for best free blogging tools and services for bloggers and summed them up in this post.

COMMENTS
  1. DISQUS Comment System: Replaces your platform’s default commenting system. A must have for blogger users where even embedded form has popups (for captcha and user/url options).
  2. Intense Debate Comment System: Another good comment system with a cool “Reply via Email” option. Only thing I found annoying is the need to confirm for comment subscription via email! Further Reading: How to Install Intense Debate on Blogger.
CONTACTS
  1. Formsmarts: A free form maker. You can use pop-up link options for platforms that do not let you embed JavaScript.
  2. Kontactr: A basic contact form available for embedding or as popup.
  3. HideText:  Lets you create image from text. Ideal to hide your email contact address from spam bots.
  4. E-Mail Scrambler: Lets you scramble e-mail address (if you still want to embed it) in a format not recognizable by bots. You have to paste some code in the theme’s head section for it to work properly.

I never aspired to be CEO of Infosys: Mohandas Pai

TV Mohandas Pai, senior board member of IT bellwether Infosys Technologies, and a well-known face in the industry, announced his resignation from the board and company today. It left many in the industry shocked as they believe it to be a major setback after Nandan Nikelani's resignation.
Talking to the media after his resignation, Mohandas Pai said, "I have been thinking about it for over a year. I discussed this with Murthy nine months ago and finally decided to take a call."
Pai denied any strife with the management and added, "Now is the time for us to pave way for the younger generation. I never aspired to be the CEO of the company. I have seen the company grow from day one. Today when I look back, I feel proud to have been part of this journey but now I will be part of this company's growth as a share holder." And with tongue-firmly-in-cheek, he said he "might even ask some questions".
On Pai's resignation N R Narayana Murthy, chairman and chief mentor said, "Mohan has been an early adopter and a keen anchor builder of Infosys. It is difficult to imagine Infosys without Mohan's passion, commitment, joie-de-vivre and intellect. We all know that he is taking this painful decision, since he has much bigger projects in the horizon- that of nation building. The board and every Infoscion thank Mohandas Pai for his wonderful contribution and wish him great success in his future endeavours."
The founder and the company's chairman Narayan Murthy is himself set to retire in August 2011.
With the company going through major restructuring and leadership challenges, Pai's resignation couldn't have come at a worse time.  Talking about the company's future leadership plans, Pai said, "The board will decide in its meeting on April 30. We are moving ahead of time and the company is in a transformation phase. The older generation is getting ready to guide the new team in every possible way. So it is time for others to join the board and ensure that Infosys is in the top 3 companies."
On his own future plans, though, he didn't reveal much. But he plans to enter public life by contributing something to the education sector.
Pai joined Infosys in 1994 and has served as a  member of the board since May 2000. He was the chief financial officer from 1994 to 2006. In 2006, he voluntarily demitted the office of CFO to lead efforts in the areas of human resources and education and research.
As the CFO, he played a strategic role in transforming Infosys into one of the world's most respected and widely known software services companies. He formulated the country's first publicly articulated financial policy for the company. He played a key role in branding the company among the investor community and enhancing transparency and disclosure levels. The Infosys Annual Report, under his supervision, has won the top awards consistently from the Institute of Chartered Accountants and from the South Asian Federation of Accountants. Pai has also been part of various committees such as the Kelkar committee for reforming direct taxes and is currently on the SEBI

Infosys saw another resignation from K Dinesh, one of its founding members.

No vulgarity in nudity, says Poonam Pandey

Mumbai, April 12 (IANS) There is no vulgarity in nudity, said Poonam Pandey, the model whose offer to go nude before Team India if they won the Cricket World Cup shot the mercury up for the India-Sri Lanka final in Mumbai.
'We were all born nude. People take nudity as vulgarity. I see it in a different way. If I keep it as an offer for bringing the World Cup to India, which incidentally worked (laughs), I see no harm in it,' Pandey told IANS in an interview.
The model's offer hit the headlines prior to the April 2 World Cup final in Mumbai. A court case was also filed against her over the issue.
'After such a long time Team India was again very close to winning the World Cup and I truly wanted to them to be successful. It (going nude in front of the team) was a sort of offering from my side to our cricketers,' Pandey told IANS in an interview.
Does she believe that Team India won the World Cup just so it did not miss her offering?
'No, I won't say that. But I had prayed to God that if India brings the Cup I would strip in front of the team. I am yet to fulfil my commitment though,' Pandey said.
But her parents were certainly upset.
'Frankly, when I gave the statement my parents felt very bad. But when I explained to them why I made the offer, they were relieved a bit,' she said.
Pandey, an aspiring actress, is one of the contestants in the fourth season of the action adventure reality show 'Khatron Ke Khilladi' on COLORS channel.
If she could face the whole country over the nudity controversy, competing 12 pairs of contestants in the 'Khatron ke..' show is nothing, the model said.
'I am not afraid of anyone. I wasn't afraid when whole India was after me. There is no chance I fear a bit about the 12 pairs of contestants. On the contrary, I would love to make people fear me,' said Pandey.
Asked if she has any particular plan if she wins the reality show, Pandey said: 'I want to keep it a surprise.'
