So, you started your own blog. You created it on the Blogger platform. You write about your favourite things, started having traffic, and now feel that you need to better interact with your visitors. It is time for you to create a contact form for your blog.
Before continuing, there are a couple of things you should know: usually, contact forms use the mail() function to send emails. As your blog is created on the Blogger free platfom, you do not have access to the mail() function. This is why you need to use an external service to create and run your contact form. We will teach you how to use a free 123ContactForm account to create the form you need for your blog.
Please follow these steps, in about 5 minutes, your Blogger page will have a brand new contact form!
- Sign-up for a 123ContactForm account.
- Login your new 123ContactForm account.
- Click the Create new form link.
- Enter a name for your form (eg: Blogger Contact Form) and your email address in the first 2 input boxes, then click the Save Form button in the bottom of the page.
- You are on the Edit Fields page. Click the Next link.
- You are on the Theme page. Click the Next link.
- You are on the Get HTML code page. Go to the Option 2 part of the page, click the Select text button. Press CTRL+C and now the contact form HTML code is in your Clipboard.
That's all you have to do on the 123ContactForm site, now go to your Blogger blog and do the following:
- Login your Blogger account and click the New Post button.
- Switch to Edit Html mode.
- Enter a title for the new blog post, for example: Contact Me
- Set the focus to the body of the post, and press CTRL+V (or right-click and select Paste from the menu that appers). This will paste the form code, from the Clipboard to your Blogger post.
- Click on Post Options and set Reader Comments to Don't allow
- Click the Publish Post button.
- To make your contact form visible to your visitors, place a link to the contact form post in your blog's sidebar, by clicking Layout, then Edit HTML in your Blogger account.
That's all, folks! Click here to see a Blogger blog that uses a contact form created using the steps you just read on this page.
